Steel

RIPP’s patented process recovers steel, a readily marketable commodity, from tires otherwise destined to be burned or dumped into landfills.

RIPP’s patented process produces a heavy melting steel product. Recycling of scrap steel plays an important role in the conservation of energy, since the re-melting of steel requires much less energy than the production of steel products from iron ore. Furthermore, consumption of iron and steel scrap by re-melting reduces the burden on landfill disposal facilities.

The steel industry in North America has been recycling steel waste for more than 200 years. In the US alone, more than 60 million tons of steel are recycled in steel mills and foundries each year.
