Oil
One of the products of RIPP’s patented pyrolysis process is a commercial grade oil. The oil produced by RIPP is a synthetic oil similar to globally available crude oils and has high aromatics and low sulphur content.
Our oil has two key value-adding features: (i) it is a sustainable product, created from used tires; and (ii) it is made-up of the most commercially valuable crude oil fractions or “heart-cuts” (i.e. medium naphtha, distillate and gas oil fractions).
There are numerous market options for the sale of this oil, including:
- Sale to refineries as a sustainable oil alternative to fossil based crude oils
- Fractionate the oil into two products, a gasoline fraction and a middle distillate/gas oil fraction and sell to refiners and fuel blenders as sustainable fuel alternatives; and
- Sale of the lighter fraction to chemical markets for aromatic and naphthalene products.
RIPP’s oil has been analyzed and characterized by a major independent laboratory in Canada. The market demand for sustainable, non-fossil based products is clear. Canada, the US, and countries in Europe have regulated minimum renewable content in motor fuels. Our oil product can help customers meet these goals in both the consumer product and motor fuels markets.
